The drums of war are beating louder in Washington as a cabal of neoconservative elites, led by figures like Mark Levin and Rupert Murdoch, pressures President Trump to abandon diplomacy with Iran and greenlight an Israeli military strike on Tehran. Behind closed doors, these unelected power brokers are maneuvering to drag America into another catastrophic Middle Eastern conflict — one that could destabilize the region, drain U.S. resources, and sacrifice American lives for the sake of Israel’s hardline agenda. While Trump has publicly resisted calls for military action, the relentless lobbying from war hawks threatens to derail negotiations and push the U.S. toward a disastrous confrontation. The stakes couldn’t be higher, but the neocons are being exposed: Will Trump stand firm against the warmongers, or will he cave to the same forces that orchestrated the Iraq debacle?
Key points:
Behind the scenes, a well-funded network of neoconservatives and Israel-aligned operatives is working overtime to sabotage diplomacy. Mark Levin, a conservative radio host with direct access to Trump, has been aggressively pushing the president to authorize military action, falsely claiming Iran is “days away” from a nuclear bomb — a claim U.S. intelligence disputes. Meanwhile, Rupert Murdoch’s media empire, including the New York Post, has launched a smear campaign against Witkoff, portraying him as compromised by foreign interests.
This isn’t the first time shadowy figures have manipulated U.S. foreign policy. The same playbook was used before the Iraq War, when fabricated intelligence about WMDs justified an invasion that killed thousands and destabilized the region. Now, history is repeating itself — only this time, the target is Iran.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has long sought U.S. backing for a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. But Trump, aware of the political and strategic risks, has resisted. In May, he reportedly asked Israeli officials to stand down while negotiations continued — a request that has only heightened tensions between the two allies.
The irony is stark: Trump, who brokered the Abraham Accords and moved the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, now faces accusations of being “soft” on Iran from the very allies he empowered. The reality is that Netanyahu’s government is overplaying its hand, ignoring the fact that Trump’s base — the MAGA movement — overwhelmingly opposes another Middle East war.
The choice before Trump is clear: Pursue a negotiated settlement that prevents Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, or surrender to the war lobby and risk a conflict with no clear exit strategy. Military strikes would, at best, delay Iran’s nuclear program — not eliminate it — while guaranteeing retaliation against U.S. forces and allies in the region.
If Trump caves to the neocons, he will betray his “America First” principles and plunge the nation into another endless war. But if he holds firm, he could secure a historic deal—one that protects U.S. interests without sacrificing American lives on the altar of foreign agendas.
